The Great Chinese Dream ??

In general, the American Dream can be defined as having the freedom that allows
all citizens to achieve their goals in life through hard work in the United
States of America. Today, it generally refers to the idea that one's prosperity
depends upon one's own abilities and hard work, not on a rigid class structure,
though the meaning of the phrase has changed over America's history. For some,
it is the opportunity to achieve more prosperity than they could in their
countries of origin; for others, it is the opportunity for their children to
grow up with an education and career opportunities; for others, it is the
opportunity to be an individual without the constraints imposed by class, caste,
race, or ethnicity.
- from Wikipeida

How about the Great China? Do we have dream?

Yes. We have dream like the American.

Near to the developed cities in China, there are numbers of satellite cities in the suburbs. In the suburbs, there are developing buildings and apartments next to numbers of miles of green lands. Big foreign companies, like Intel, spotted some location to build their factory in China.

This is how the dream start!

Undergraduates look at those companies. Work at there and earn money from them. They can have their own apartments just next to the work place by few miles and enjoying their own dream house with their own dream car.

This dream will at least last for 10 years.

I am one of the undergraduates. But, am I going back to my motherland for the rest of my life? Or just stay in my homeland? Am I going to have my Great Chinese Dream?

To those who are in relation, and to those who are single ...

I read an essay - Valentine's Day: Forget it! By Nancy Gibbs - and I would like to share to you all. What do you think of Valentine? Are you feeling happy with it? Or you are being sad with it?

Nevermind ...

Just a quote ...

"Love sought is good," Shakespeare observed, "but given unsought is better."

interesting ... iPhone Enterprise

http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=206902319

it sounds interesting ... iPhone is planned to make a fight with Blackberry ...
Will it success? Will other corporations join the fight?

Anyway, iPhone SDK is quite a bit closed. see The iPhone SDK: The day after . What can be built on a closed SDK ??? Does it really a good sign to end the multi-processing pipeline in mobile phone??

Who knows the answer?

BTW, this will be an interesting 2008 ... tech. might thrive again since the finance collapsed.

Mobile Phone Market War

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7276907.stm ... as expected... see previous post about the acquisition of Danger.com by MSFT
http://mrkschan.blogspot.com/2008/02/they-got-windows-mobile-why-still.html

MSFT is competing with Adobe (Flex), Sun (JavaFX), and Mozilla (Prism) on desktop platform by Silverlight ... However, Sun already dominant the mobile market. Will Silverlight successfully HIT the phones?

Of course, Google won't let MSFT earn the most - http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9885341-7.html?tag=cd.blog

Here we get the Google Gear... and let's keep an eye on Android!! Who knows what will happen when the first phone with Android goes public!!

BTW, who will win the game?

Yahoo - http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9885562-7.html?tag=cd.blog - is also doing something to make itself appear in mobile market ... will they success to do so? Or they will just kicked out of the stage ??

Apple - http://www.macworld.co.uk/ipod-itunes/news/index.cfm?newsid=20607&pagtype=allchandate - who is doing something different than others ... will they still catch the users' desires???

stay tuned.

Struggling??

Google SOC 2008 is announced ... http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/summer-of-code-is-back.html

What can I do?? What should I do??

Should I quit placement for this?? Or should I forget about tour??

Things happen at the same time ... ALWAYS!!

Can I, Could I, or Would I??

Is stability really better than variety and fluctuation?

Why I only get 24 hours a day?

this 2 weeks were the most disappointing weeks . . .

Say goodbye to Netscape

Netscape Navigator, now owned by AOL, will no longer be supported after 1 March 2008, the company has said. - From BBC news.
In the mid-1990s, as the commercial web began to take off, the browser was used by more than 90% of people online.

Other companies capitalised on Netscape's success, notably Microsoft, which began to bundle IE with its Windows operating systems.

Although this led to legal wrangles over anti-competitive behaviour, IE now dominates the browser landscape with an 80% market share.

As a result, Netscape became unviable.

Although I didn't use Netscape. But, this is quite a bad news to me ... since MSFT again win a game. Anyway, Firefox ROCK !!! Keep the game in tight !! Look ahead for FF 3 !!!

stay tuned.
